This T43 is fully working and with the exception of the top lid looks great. The LCD is a 1400x1050 IPS panel.
The T43 was actually native SATA and internally used a SATA to PATA controller to connect IDE drives. The converter was disabled and a SATA port was wired up. This would allow for an SSD to be installed. Right now it’s a 500GB Toshiba drive.
The laptop is missing a battery because the one it had installed was dead. Unfortunately if the battery is completely dead in one of these. It causes the laptop to lock up randomly. This is not unique to this specific laptop. All T43 units work like this unfortunately.
